Congratulations to Gabriel Levitt, Brooklyn Chapter President and winner of the Margaret K. (Molly) Bruce Advocacy Award, and to Marcia Brewster, Westchester Chapter President and Donna Rosa, Northern New Jersey Chapter President, winners of the Lee H. Bloom Leadership Award. The awards were made at our Annual Meeting on December 8, 2014 by Anne Bruce, Molly's daughter, and DougBloom, Lee's son.

The Lee H. Bloom Leadership Award recognizes the outstanding longtime volunteer  leadership of a member. The Award is a tribute to the late Lee. H. Bloom who by his  example and service on the Westchester Chapter, as treasurer of the Southern NYS  Division, set a standard of excellence and commitment to the work of UNA-USA.

The Margaret K. Bruce Award recognizes a member who has increased support for the 
United Nations through advocacy activities with both legislators and the general public.  The award is a tribute to the late Margaret K. Bruce, one of the original staff members of the United Nations who served as Secretary of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and worked directly with its Chairperson, Eleanor Roosevelt, during the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. After retiring from the U.N. Secretariat, she joined UNA-USA and served terms as President of both the Westchester Chapter and the SNY Division.
